// Announcer
An announcer that talks over the music. Free.
“Now batting, number 12…” The song drops under the voice, then comes back up. That is real ducking, not a pause and restart, and it costs nothing on any plan.
// Slo-pitch · Softball · Baseball
Give every batter a walk-up clip. At the field, tap once: the announcer calls them up over the music, the song kicks in, and the next batter is already loaded.
// Game mode
Clips are cut and levelled on our server and stored on your phone. The batter up and the next two are loaded before you need them. Nothing streams at the plate.

“Now batting, number 12…” The song drops under the voice, then comes back up. That is real ducking, not a pause and restart, and it costs nothing on any plan.
// Your voice
Rather hear the coach than the phone? Record the call yourself, one player at a time. It plays with the same ducking as the built-in announcer.
// Offline + ready check
Game mode plays only from files on your phone. Before first pitch, the ready check confirms every clip is downloaded and current, test-plays each one quietly, and shows a big green or red result.
// Lineup import
Bring a roster in from pasted text, a CSV, a GameChanger lineup PDF, or a photo of the lineup card. You check the names, numbers and order before anything is saved.
// Apple Music
Have an Apple Music subscription? Pick the song from the catalog and set where it starts. The announcer goes first, then the song. We never charge for Apple Music; you only need your own subscription.
// iPhone + Android
Android is not an afterthought here. Uploaded songs, the announcer, game mode and the ready check work the same on both. (Apple Music is iPhone only, because that is where Apple allows it.)
// Lineups
Extra hitters, more than nine batters, and a bench. Turn on co-ed alternation and the lineup editor warns you when the order breaks it. Softball and baseball lineups work too.
// ProPro
Pro adds a soundboard for the big moments, a playlist for between innings, unlimited teams, and sharing a team with your other coaches by invite code.
// Switching?
Here is an honest side-by-side, including the things BallparkDJ does better.

Yes. One team with unlimited players, walk-up clips, the announcer, your own voice recordings, game mode and the ready check are all free. Pro adds unlimited teams, the soundboard, a between-innings playlist and coach sharing.
No. Spotify’s developer rules do not allow a public app like this to play its music, and they ban mixing other audio over it, which would rule out the announcer anyway. YouTube’s terms do not allow playing a video’s audio on its own. Amazon Music does not offer apps like this a way to play its catalog. You can use songs you have as files (MP3, M4A or WAV), or Apple Music on iPhone.
From you. Upload a song file you have the rights to use, or on iPhone pick a song from Apple Music with your own subscription. Walk Up Song App does not sell or supply music.
Playing music in public can need a performance licence. In Canada that is usually SOCAN and Re:Sound; in the US, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. Leagues and venues often hold one already. Getting the right licence is your responsibility (or your league’s), not Walk Up Song App’s. Check with your league or venue.
Yes. Set your team up with a connection, run the ready check, and game mode plays entirely from your phone. Apple Music songs are the exception: they stream, so they need a connection.
Free on iPhone and Android. One team, every batter, no card needed.
